If you wait for inspiration to write you’re not a writer, you’re a waiter.
Dan Poynter
I was talking with someone recently about articles for this blog when he shared a great idea.
“Why not invite other people to submit articles?“
I typically write articles dealing with subject matters that I am familiar with. I have written about aquatic plants, macroinvertebrates, water quality, outreach, etc. You will notice, however, that I haven’t written much about birds or fish or reptiles. Those subjects just aren’t in my wheelhouse. The person I was talking to suggested I tap into the talent in the Lake Maxinkuckee/Culver community and ask others to share their expertise.
So here is my callout for guest writers. What do you know about fishing Lake Maxinkuckee? Do you know something about birding? Are you a photographer? Did you spend a really great day on the water and feel like sharing it? I would love to learn more about these topics, and I bet others would too.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Maya Angelou
Your stories don’t have to follow a specific format or have a set word count. Please include pictures if you have them. Email me your article and I will add it to the blog page with your by-line. There is something exciting, and a little addicting, about seeing your work published.
Don’t be a waiter…..be a writer!
