Who says lake excitement is only a seasonal thing?
The cold weather of the last few weeks left the lake nearly completely frozen over. Ice fishermen were already in the channels, where it was eight inches thick.
But our last 48 hours have been warm, and very windy.
Below are some photos from the scene this morning. It will top out at 50 degree today, with spotty rain. Tomorrow’s wind chill? Zero degree Fahrenheit.
While the swimming isn’t great right now, there’s still lots of excitement to be had!
(Regarding the blog title… Google tells me I inadvertently used a late Middle English phrase, “heave-ho” has been “originally in nautical use when hauling a rope”)
